The Pledging ProcessPledgeship is a seven week process during which potential members operate their own unique mini-chapter in order to coordinate events and meet pledging requirements. Pledges meet once a week and are responsible for electing their own officers, planning events, and passing quizzes and an examination on the fraternity and its history.
Each pledge class receives the responsibility and experience of planning a community service event, a professional event, a social event, as well as undertaking fundraising initiatives to finance all pledge events. Pledges will also meet with each brother of the chapter to cultivate personal relationships with members. Each pledge will be assigned a "Big Brother" who will serve as a mentor to the pledge. During this time, a great emphasis is placed on professional growth and teamwork. It is also an important way to learn more about the fraternity and its operations before being initiated as a brother. Please feel free to reach out to dsp@purdue.edu if you have any questions. |
